Yoga Cards
82There are many different types of exercises available to people. There are cardio exercises like running outside, on a treadmill, or even on an elliptical machines. Or, you can do weight lifting exercises that can help you to build up strength.
There is another type of exercise that has become very popular, though it has been around for centuries. Yoga is an exercise type that is focused on stretching, relaxation, flexibility, and focus. It has it's roots in spirituality, but even if you don't focus on the spiritual aspects of yoga, you can still get many of the benefits. There are many different ways to do yoga, and so I am going to be going into some of the ways, and introduce you to a new way of doing doing Yoga that you may not have thought of or heard about before.
Different Ways to Do Yoga
There are multiple ways that you can do Yoga these days. You can do yoga all 4 ways, or you can simply choose your favorite and go that route. As long as you are doing yoga, you'll get the benefits from it.
- Going to a gym/fitness club - Yoga classes have become very popular at many gyms and fitness clubs across the nation. You usually have to be a member of these clubs in order to participate in the classes, but if you have a friend that is a member, you may be able to go once or twice with them if they have a guest pass. A similar but different way is to look at your city or county's recreational center or community center, and they may have occasional classes there open to the public.
- Yoga Videos and DVDs - If you're not really interested in doing yoga in public, or maybe you don't want to have to pay for a gym pass, then you definitely can still do yoga at home. There are a lot of different DVDs and videos that are available for all different types of yoga. Beginners, intermediate, advanced DVDs are all available. If you are pregnant, then you can definitely find some pregnancy yoga videos that will help to modify some of the poses to give you great back relief, but also allow you to stretch and relax.
- On your own - If you've been doing yoga for a while, then you may be able to do yoga just off the top of your head, without having to go to a class or watch DVDs. The benefit is that you're not tied down to a certain style, but the downside is that you may end up only doing the same moves over and over because you'll naturally not want to push yourself, and you may forget some of the moves. This leads me to my next way to do yoga, and that is...
- Yoga Cards - Yoga cards are a great way to be able to do yoga on your own, and at your own pace. They contain many different poses, and you can deal out as many as you want to do, and then do those poses that you dealt. You'll get a picture of how to do it, as well as a description. This gives you the benefit of being able to do yoga on your own, while also having a little bit of structure and something to challenge you and keep it different at all times.
I definitely think that Yoga cards the best way to go since you're able to workout in the convenience of home, while also having some sort of structured routine, but more varied than DVD would be since the DVD does the same things over and over.

Yoga Cards for Kids
In addition to having yoga card decks for adults who are interested in yoga, you can also get yoga card decks for children with all kinds of fun and wacky yoga pose cards. This allows your child to get into yoga too, which can help get them active while still having a very fun time. A yoga DVD for kids may be a little too boring for them after a while, but having a deck of cards that they can deal out the yoga fun would be awesome, and a great way for your children to learn to relax and have fun while doing some good exercises for them!
Conclusion
While I am not downplaying the importance of going to a yoga class or using a yoga DVD for your workout, yoga cards do provide a new yoga experience for you, giving you the benefit of being able to do yoga on your own time, and in the comfort of your own home, while still having some sort of structure and routine, without it being too structued.
You have to decide for yourself if yoga cards will be right for you, but no matter which method you choose, I hope you have fun doing yoga and enjoying all of the benefits from doing yoga.
